Implants: Case #1
Patient presented with drainage from tooth #3. Fracture was suspected but no deep probing were noted, accessing the tooth showed a fracture present on the MB root (buccal to lingual) and the tooth was deemed non-restorable. An implant was planned on. Due to insufficient bone present a sinus lift was anticipated. The tooth was extracted; the socket was cleaned and allowed to heal for 4 months prior to any implant procedure. Implant site preparation was completed and the floor of the sinus was lifted 3 mm and no bone graft was placed. A Straumann implant was placed with a healing cap. The implant was allowed to integrate for 4 months and then restored. The patient and his dentist were both very pleased with the results.
